Key Information
The Karamojong are an ethnic community and indigenous residents of Kaabong, kotido, Karenga, Napak, Moroto, Abim, and Nakapiripriti Districts of northeastern Uganda. The Karamojong are the descendant of Nyangatom of Ethiopia; a nomadic pastoralist community who migrated south around 1600AD in search of a permanent grazing. Travelers on tour to Uganda in Kidepo valley national park have an opportunity of visiting the Karamojong manyatta and interacting with this unique people. In the past, they were a misunderstanding community taken to be primitive, perennial lawbreakers and arrogant.
Days Kidepo Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Hotel
Today upon your arrival in Uganda, our representative will meet and warmly welcome you at Entebbe International Airport for the start of your 5 Days Kidepo Safari. You will then be transferred to Kampala for dinner and overnight at Emin Pasha Hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
After early morning breakfast, we shall begin our scenic journey to Kidepo Valley National Park via Karuma Falls in northern Uganda. Enjoy lunch en route in Gulu District as we pass through the remote beauty of northern Uganda, rich with Acholi culture, farmlands, and community settlements. Arrive and check in for dinner and overnight at Savannah Lodge.
Day 3: Game Drive & Lurokoul Cultural Performance
After breakfast, your 5 Days Kidepo Safari continues with a thrilling morning game drive in the Narus Valley. Kidepo is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Expect to see zebras, giraffes, lions, elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of birds. Return for lunch, then visit the nearby Lurokoul Cultural Community to experience the Karamojong lifestyle, dances, history, and traditional architecture. Dinner and overnight at Savannah Lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Namokora and Bajere Youth Cultural Group
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Namokora Sub-county, the birthplace of former President Tito Okello Lutwa. Explore Acholi traditions through guided walks, cultural dances, and local cuisine. Proceed to Kitgum to visit the War Museum, documenting the LRA conflict. Dinner and overnight at Cactus Hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport
This marks the final day of your 5 Days Kidepo Safari. After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe with an en-route lunch stop at Kabalega Dinners before proceeding to the airport for your flight home.
