The Karamojong are an ethnic community and indigenous residents of Kaabong, kotido, Karenga, Napak, Moroto, Abim, and Nakapiripriti Districts of northeastern Uganda. The Karamojong are the descendant of Nyangatom of Ethiopia; a nomadic pastoralist community who migrated south around 1600AD in search of a permanent grazing. Travelers on tour to Uganda in Kidepo valley national park have an opportunity of visiting the Karamojong manyatta and interacting with this unique people. In the past, they were a misunderstanding community taken to be primitive, perennial lawbreakers and arrogant.
Day 1: Arrival & transfer to hotel.
Today upon your arrival in Uganda, our representative will meet you and pick up from Entebbe international airport with a warm welcome to the pearl of Africa. Transfer to hotel in Kampala for your dinner & overnight at Emin pasha hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park.
After early morning breakfast, we shall transfer to Kidepo valley national park via Karuma falls in northern Uganda with lunch en-route in Gulu districts enjoy drive through the remoteness of the under discovered hidden tranquility of the northern Uganda through the Acholi culture with their farmlands, community settlements etc. arrival and check. Dinner and overnight at savannah lodge.
Day 3: Game drive & Lurokoul Cultural Performance.
After your breakfast, we shall embark on to early morning game drive along the Narus valley. Kidepo is one of the parks with the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa despite its remoteness and isolations, enjoy viewing zebras, giraffes, lions, elephants, buffaloes among other birds etc. return for lunch and we shall transfer to the nearby community of the Lurokoul cultural community. Enjoy the life of the Karamojong, their traditional dance and performance, social life set up, dress code, brief history, architectures of the manyatta etc. dinner and overnight at savannah lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Namokora and Bajere Youth cultural group.
After your breakfast, we shall check out of the park and proceed to Namokora Sub County. Former Presidents birthplace and his grave Tito Okello Lutwa. We shall explore the traditional display of the Luo people in this youth associations which offers local guided nature walks, Traditional dance and drama of the Acholi culture, Local cuisines of the locals, social political set up background etc. later we shall proceed to Kitgum districts and visit the War museum which display the LRA war regime in Uganda for 25 years in northern Uganda. Dinner and overnight at Cactus Hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport.
Today after your morning breakfast, we shall transfer back to Entebbe international airport for your flight back home. We shall have en-route lunch on the way at Kabalega dinners for refreshment and later proceed to Kampala city finally Entebbe airport.
