Lake Mburo national park is located in western Uganda shared by Lyantonde, Mbarara, Kiruhura districts 254km from Kampala the major capital along Mbarara highway. The park is the most convenient place to spot zebras in Uganda; the other is Kidepo which is far away in the northeast. Lake Mburo is the only place to spot impalas in Uganda, one of the smallest savannahs national parks in Uganda of about 370km of which 20% is covered with wetlands and water bodies. It is the most accessible park in Uganda about 3-4 hours’ drive or 254km from Kampala. For birds’ lovers, Lake Mburo is the best place to spot acacia-dwelling birds in Uganda like spur fowl, herons, lilac breasted roller etc. Offers the best fascinating game walking safaris in Uganda. This is because there are no big predators such as lions and Elephants to cause any harm to tourists. It is the best place to spot Leopards and hold the highest numbers of leopards in Uganda.
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park & Evening Game drive.
- The safari to L. Mburo National Park will be incredibly scenic through Acacia woodlands, lively village markets and over rolling hills of lush green countryside, wetlands and forest that lie at the base of each hill.

Day 2: safari on foot/ walking safari & boat cruise
- Safari breakfasts are traditionally served before the day breaks so that you can start your morning game walk as the sun comes up. Sunrise is the best time for wildlife spotting as animals tend to be the most active during the golden hours.
- 2 hours walking safari with the ranger tailored towards specific bird’s life and/or wildlife interests. Impalas, zebras, common Elands, Topi, Giraffes etc.
- Lake Mburo attracts a rich array of birds and animals including the infamous Fin foot, grey crown crane, Handsome Francolin etc. You will explore game viewing on well-maintained tracks with the harmed rangers.
- The afternoon boat cruise will follow after the walking tour. This activity is incredible way to spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, king fishers, African fish eagles, fin foot.
- Dinner and overnight at Mburo Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala & Equator Experience
- Morning breakfast or cup of coffee as you relax with the stunning view from the hill down the last savannah acacia landscape.
